Rooted Deep with One another in Family Groups
Why Family Groups?
People grow in a smaller groups, and churches grow because of small groups! One size does not fit all. Various types of groups meet the needs of people in different situations of life: physical, emotional, social, and spiritual.
It’s about growing people, not a program.
Maybe you are new to Findlay Evangelical Free Church and you cannot figure out how to make new friends. Friends who care about you – friends who will be there during both the good times and the bad. Making new friends is only part of the Family Group experience. In a Family Group, you will also learn more about God’s Word and how you can apply it to your everyday life.
Why Should You Join a Family Group?
The teaching and fellowship opportunities that are available in our Sunday morning programs provide excellent opportunities for individuals to learn about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. However, in order for an individual to continually grow in his/her relationship with Jesus Christ, these valuable Sunday programs must be supplemented by the more intimate teaching and fellowship that can only be found in a Family Group setting.
Family Groups at the Findlay Evangelical Free Church serve seven key functions:
Bible Study - Group members grow spiritually through the regular study of God’s Word in an intimate setting that provides the freedom to both ask questions and provide insights.
Caring – Group members grow spiritually by actively caring for the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the other members of the group.
Encouragement - Group members grow spiritually by sharing in the joys and the sorrows of the other members of the group.
Fellowship – Group members grow spiritually by simply spending time with one another.
Prayer - Group members grow spiritually by corporately praying for the needs of the other members of the group. Additionally, Group members support the church body by actively praying for the needs of the entire church.
Accountability - Group members grow spiritually through mutual accountability.
Service - Group members grow spiritually through their faithful service and commitment to the entire church body and through their encouraging of others to do the same.
