Dear Family,
There is a lot going on this week in the life of our church: it’s the first week of our new Sunday schedule, it’s Promotion Sunday for the kids, there is a parent’s open house in the Children’s Department during the second hour, and it’s the last week without a Senior Pastor!
In our services, we will be celebrating the Lord’s Table, where we remember “The Lamb of God” who was slaughtered on our behalf. I will be preaching on the history of the Lamb of God in Scripture, starting with the Passover and ending with John the Baptist. You don’t want to miss this sermon! I will be doing a powerful object lesson, and will be even sharing a quote from a non-Hebrew Egyptian who lived through the Passover & plagues experience, and then we will dig into the first recorded words that John the Baptist says of his cousin, Jesus. Lastly, I will give people the opportunity to accept the Lamb of God, Jesus, as their Lord & Savior.
Please be in prayer for this Sunday. It is a full day & there are a lot of new and exciting renovations happening. Oh, and if you can’t make it to the worship service, you can always stream the sermon, or listen to it later on our website: www.findlayefree.com
Your brother,
Jeff

Dear church family,
We want to remind you that this is the week we shift our Sunday morning schedule, and summarize a few important highlights.
As we think you’ll see and appreciate, this shift is primarily about fostering the community of our church family. It has many virtues for everyone from our core family to new-to-church seekers, as we move forward through God’s amazing purposes in our lives!
The times are 9:00 and 10:40. These are for 1st (“blended”) and 2nd (“contemporary”) services, and also for Sunday School classes.
Our intent is to provide the opportunity to attend a great class, centered on solid Bible teaching, but geared toward PEOPLE sharing our lives in genuine fellowship. We know the longer classes and break between sessions is a little different, but these connections are what we look forward to happening throughout our Sunday morning gatherings!
Sunday School classes for the coming quarter (starting this week):
9:00 – Parents of Teens, taught by Mike and Laurie Turnow, rm 413
9:00 – Christian Beliefs, taught by Larry Seawell, rm 410/412
10:40 – Handling Anger God’s Way, taught by Pastor Dave and Denny Bash, rm 410/412
10:40 – Discovering God’s Way of Handling $$, taught by Greg Allen & Chris Alexander, rm 411
10:40 – Eighteen.25 (College & Career) class, rm 413
A special note to you 2nd-service folks: some of us are used to just attending the 2nd service and not really plugging into Sunday School – let us especially encourage you to join us here at 9:00 for some cookies and coffee, fellowship, and good group discussion about our great God!
For our families with children, look for an email later this afternoon from Ms. Kristie that will provide additional information for you. Regarding the youth and pre-teens (grades 5-6), there are Sunday School classes offered during both sessions, though the larger gathering is expected to track for these teens to attend Sunday School at 9:00 and the contemporary (10:40) worship service.
We look forward to seeing all of you this Sunday and throughout the coming days, as we join together in learning, sharing, growing, and celebrating! And don’t forget that one week from this Sunday we welcome Pastor Blair and Gina and Reegan! Please keep them – and our church – in your prayers.
God is good.
