History

In January 1987, a core group of four families planted a new church in Findlay, Ohio, committed to the truth of the Word without the trappings of tradition.  Later that same year, the decision was made to call Adam Zaslavsky to be the church’s teaching pastor.  From its first Sunday with 39 people in attendance until March 24, 1996, with 218 people, the church met at the YMCA.  The following Sunday, the church moved to its present location on Findlay’s eastside.  Over the past ten years, God has blessed the church with hundreds of families, beautiful facilities, and additional staff.  As we look back, we clearly see God’s blessings evidenced through changed lives.  As we look forward, we are eager to see how God will use the Findlay E-Free church both in our community and around the world.

Pastor Adam Zaslavsky resigned for urgent health reasons at the end of 2009, after his strong tenure of 22 years at Findlay E-Free.  He and wife Penny were here at our beginning, so he is our Founding Pastor, and now very clearly the subject of our prayers and the object of our appreciation.

This is the start of a season of change.  We are trusting God to continue His work here at Findlay E-Free as we continue to seek His will.
